The Bus
Well the Bus is Finished. You might wonder.... well why do you care that some bus is finished.
For the past several years B had worked as "The Safety" at Grace Christian school. He did odd jobs, subbed for almost every teacher at least once (and some of them too many times) but his main duty was shuttling kids across Alaska, where ever their academic and extracurricular activities took them. He was simply the bus driver.
Being a bus driver is not an easy task. The two busses that have been the main vehicles for Grace these past years are very old and cantankerous. They've got funny noises and quirks and problems that come with the territory of an older vehicle. But we're talking about busses here, not a ford F150. The parts and labor for these babies are expensive. B can only recall 3 times that one of these two busses broke down with students in it. Nonetheless they did breakdown and in Alaska, something like that can be unnerving.
A family at Grace who loves to love on Grace recognized that a new bus was a need. In an act of selfless generosity, they gave Grace Christian a check for a new bus. When B came home and told me the news I was beyond thrilled. He also told me that he got to help choose all the options and things for the bus and the studens that would use it in the future. We were also asked oif we'd like to drive the new Bus home from the plant. and of course being the road trippon' unkies we are, we said yes.
It'll probably take ten days at least to get home, but we're so blessed to be bringing her home.
That's a nice bus.
